Herb Kohler wanted something that felt like Ireland on Lake Michigan, and Pete Dye gave him a full theatrical production: dunes, fescue, lake wind, endless bunkering, and a course that feels bigger than the scorecard. It is not subtle. It is not natural in the old-world sense. It also does not need to apologize. Walk it properly, take a caddie, and let the spectacle do what it does.

Played the Irish. Wonderful experience. Hard but fair course. Definitely scoreable but will kick your butt given the chance. We used carts. The carts are a little "nanny state" for my liking but I guess it prevents the yahoos from spoiling it for everyone. Course is in incredible
