The Approach Shot

San Francisco Bay Area

TPC Harding Park

Public championship parkland / Lake Merced

Harding Park is the San Francisco anchor. It has hosted the 2020 PGA Championship, Presidents Cup, and other major events, but it still feels like a city public course at heart. That is the charm. You are playing tournament history in a municipal wrapper. Very Bay Area. Very useful. Resident/non-resident pricing and advance booking rules matter here, so check the current rate page before the group starts pretending the muni is cheap.

I’m pleased to play here! As expected, the course was well-maintained, and it was so challenging that I ended up using almost every club in my bag.

Overpriced for the condition Played today at TPC Harding Park, and honestly, the course condition doesn’t match the price tag. The greens look like everyone forgot what a pitch repair tool is, and the bunkers clearly haven’t seen a rake in days. The rough is about 3–4 inches thic

Great walk on a fun layout, could use a little more emphasis on fixing divots by the clubhouse and starter
